El acetato de butildiglicol es un éster de éter de glicol de alto punto de ebullición. Se utiliza como coadyuvante coalescente en revestimientos arquitectónicos. También sirve como solvente pesado en tintas de impresión y como solvente para aceites, resinas y lacas. El material es un líquido incoloro con un olor suave.
