El DTPA, también llamado ácido pentético, es un agente quelante poliaminocarboxílico. Forma complejos estables con iones metálicos y tiene una afinidad particularmente fuerte por el hierro. También se utiliza en la preparación de radiofármacos. El uso cosmético está sujeto a las condiciones aplicables al ingrediente cosmético. El uso farmacéutico requiere el grado de farmacopea aplicable.
