1,4-Butyndiol (but-2-yn-1,4-diol) is but-2-yn gesubstitueerd met hydroxygroepen op de posities 1 en 4. Het is een witte tot gele vaste stof die zeer goed oplosbaar is in ethanol, aceton en methanol. Het wordt gebruikt als tussenproduct, corrosieremmer, glansmiddel bij elektroplating en polymerisatieversneller. De belangrijkste toepassing is hydrogenering tot butaandiol en buteendiol.
