Ammoniakoplossing is ammoniak opgelost in water. Het dient als alkalisch pH-regelaar en reinigingsmiddel in huishoudelijke en industriële formuleringen. Andere toepassingen zijn onder meer waterbehandeling en textielverwerking. Het wordt ook gebruikt als chemisch tussenproduct en als zuurteregelaar voor voedsel. Gebruik in levensmiddelen als E 527 is onderworpen aan de geldende specificatie voor levensmiddelenadditieven en de toegestane gebruiksvoorwaarden.
