Ethyleenglycolmonoethylether is een glycoletheroplosmiddel met een sterk oplosbaarheidsvermogen voor natuurlijke en synthetische harsen, dat van oudsher wordt gebruikt in drukinkten, houtbeitsen en als anti-ijsvormingsadditief in vliegtuigbrandstof. Het wordt ook gebruikt als oplosmiddel voor coatings, lijmen en epoxyharsen. Het is een heldere, kleurloze vloeistof.
