Calcium acetate is the calcium salt of acetic acid. It is a fine, white, hygroscopic, bulky powder that is soluble in water. It is used in dyeing, tanning and curing skins, in lubricants, as a corrosion inhibitor and as an antifoam additive in formulated antifreezes.
