Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, or CAPHS, is a mild amphoteric surfactant with a hydroxysulfobetaine head group. It provides foam stability in hard-water cleansing formulations. Applications include sulfate-free shampoos, baby cleansers and facial washes. The material is a clear to pale yellow viscous aqueous liquid. The recorded grade is cosmetic. Packaging formats include 200 kg drums, 1000 kg intermediate bulk containers and bulk tankers. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions.
