Hydrogenated castor oil (HCO) is a hard, waxy solid produced by hydrogenating castor oil. It is used as a thickener and rheology modifier in lubricating greases and as a structurant and emollient base in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations. Recorded grades include technical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical. Packaging formats include 25 kg bag, 500 kg big bag, bulk. It takes the form of white to pale yellow waxy flakes or powder. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions. Pharmaceutical use requires the applicable pharmacopoeia grade.
