Piperazine is an azacycloalkane consisting of a six-membered ring with two nitrogen atoms at opposite positions. It forms white or colourless needle-like crystals with a typical amine odour. It is used to make corrosion inhibitors and curing agents for polychloroprene, as a scrubber in gas-washer formulations, as a hardener for glue prepolymers and as a chemical intermediate.
