Le jaune de métanile est un sel de sodium organique de l'acide 3-[(4-anilinophényl)diazényl]benzènesulfonique. C'est une poudre jaune orangé. Il est utilisé dans une variante du trichrome de Masson pour colorer le collagène en jaune.
