2-Ethylhexanol is a branched eight-carbon alcohol. It serves as a feedstock for plasticiser esters, acrylates, lubricants and surfactants. It is also used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, paints, lacquers and baking finishes. Further applications include textile finishing, printing inks and paper processing.
