Acrylamide (prop-2-enamide) is an odourless crystalline solid, described as white or colourless. It is soluble in water. It is used as a reactive monomer and intermediate in the production of organic chemicals and in the synthesis of polyacrylamides. Its polymers and copolymers are used to produce sealants, adhesives, fibres, paper sizing, water coagulants and textiles.
