Bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate, or DOS, is a sebacate diester plasticiser. It is used for low-temperature flexibility and low volatility in PVC and synthetic rubbers. Other applications include lubricant formulations and cosmetic uses as an emollient, film-forming ingredient and plasticiser. The material is a clear, colourless oily liquid. Recorded grades are technical and food-contact. Packaging formats include 200 kg steel drums, 1000 kg IBCs and bulk. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions.
