DTPA pentasodium salt is a water-soluble chelating agent. It acts as a chelating agent in pulp and textile bleaching, helping control metal-catalysed peroxide decomposition. Other applications include scale inhibition in industrial water systems and use as a builder in heavy-duty detergents. It is also used in cosmetics, adhesives, photography and metal refining. It is a white to off-white powder or a colourless to pale yellow liquid. Packaging formats include 25 kg bags, 1000 kg IBCs and bulk. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions.
