Polyethylene glycol, or PEG, is a water-soluble polyether. It is used as a solvent, humectant, binder and lubricant. It also serves as a formulation base in pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics and industrial products. Physical forms include liquids, pastes, flakes and waxy solids. Recorded grades include pharmaceutical, USP, NF, technical and cosmetic. Packaging formats include 200 kg steel drums, 25 kg bags for solid material and 1000 kg big bags. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions. Pharmaceutical use requires the applicable pharmacopoeia grade.
