Propylene Glycol appears as a clear colourless viscous liquid. Propylene glycol is a diol. It is used as a humectant and solvent in food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, coatings and detergents. It mixes with water and absorbs moisture. It also serves as a raw material for polyester resins and as a base for de-icing solutions and industrial coolants. Packaging options include 200 kg steel drums, 1000 kg IBCs, ISO tanks and bulk. Food use as E 1520 is subject to the applicable food-additive specification and permitted-use conditions. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions. Pharmaceutical use requires the applicable pharmacopoeia grade.
