Epoxidised soybean oil, or ESBO, is a bio-based plasticiser for PVC. It acts as a hydrogen chloride scavenger to enhance thermal stability during processing. Other applications include adhesives, coatings, food-contact materials, toys and medical devices. The material is a pale yellow viscous liquid. Recorded grades are technical, food-contact and industrial. Packaging formats include 200 kg steel drums, 1000 kg IBCs and bulk. Food use is subject to the applicable food-additive specification and permitted-use conditions.
