PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil is a nonionic surfactant and solubilising agent produced by the ethoxylation of hydrogenated castor oil. It is widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food applications to solubilise fragrances, vitamins and essential oils into water-based systems. It is a white to yellowish semi-solid paste or viscous liquid. Recorded grades include pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food. Packaging formats include 60 kg plastic drum, 200 kg drum, 1000 kg IBC. Food use is subject to the applicable food-additive specification and permitted-use conditions. Cosmetic use is subject to the applicable cosmetic-ingredient conditions. Pharmaceutical use requires the applicable pharmacopoeia grade.
