Polysorbate 80 is a nonionic polysorbate surfactant based on ethoxylated sorbitan monooleate. It is used as an emulsifier and solubiliser in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations. Its physical appearance is a clear to pale-yellow viscous liquid. The catalogue lists food, pharmaceutical, USP, Ph. Eur. and cosmetic grades. Packaging formats include 200 kg steel drums, 1000 kg IBCs and 25 kg jerrycans. Food use as E 433 is subject to the applicable food-additive specification and permitted-use conditions.
